2012 is over. It’s a New Year and with the start of each year we create the infamous New Year’s resolutions. The concept is very simple: Get rid of your bad habits and adopt some good ones. We did our research; some of the top resolutions for 2013 are listed below:
- Eat healthy and exercise regularly
- Learn something new
- Quit smoking
- Volunteer
- Save Money
These are great resolutions, but it’s even better if we actually stick to them and not just forget about them by February. Out of the top resolutions people have committed to this year, we feel that the one we can assist with the most is the very last one: Saving Money.
- First you need to get organized with your bills. Highlight due dates and add them to your electronic calendar. This way you receive a notification when the bill is due. These reminders will help prevent late fees.
- Make a budget. This will help you spend money wisely. The best part of having a budget is that you still get money for fun on entertainment but you just limit yourself. Instead of going out four days out of the week you change it to two.
- Take advantage of free programs. There are many programs out there that will give you for free what other companies want to charge. For example;
- Instead of buying music, listen to free radio stations on the web. Some of our favorites are Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Songza.
- Instead of mailing out invitations or any greeting card, send virtual cards via email, there are several free sites that will provide the service at no cost. Some of the ones we like to use are Evite and Punchbowl.
- Instead of paying for cable or movie rentals there are websites that will play movies for free. Some of the ones we like are Amazon and Hulu.
- Don’t pay for a conferencing service when FreeConferenceCall gives you more for free. Tell a friend and share the savings.
We hope our tips were helpful! We wish everyone the best of luck with your 2013 resolutions!
